Challenge

Franciscan Health is a leading provider of integrated healthcare across Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan. The faith-based group owns and operates 12 hospitals and over 1,800 healthcare facilities providing over 300 medical services. The problem Franciscan faced was 14 disparate URLs and websites, duplicative content, and a lack of enterprise strategy or organizational governance.

Solution

Our first step was to capture goals and objectives through rich immersion sessions with key business stakeholders. We then developed an overarching, enterprise-scale, website strategy, established and implemented a singular, extensible information architecture, and created custom visual design concepts which greatly modernized the brand. After a sophisticated technical presentation layer was created, we established a framework for efficient delivery of content and user experience utilizing a Drupal CMS built atop a supporting Acquia infrastructure to power the website.

Incremental strategic initiatives included SEO-based approach to taxonomy, URL structures, and content as well as GEO-specific and personalized experiences. Additionally, we created robust documentation, guidelines, and training materials as well as performed in-person and virtual training sessions to ensure continued success.

Results

As a Client of approximately 6 years, Franciscan Health has experienced tremendous growth and success with their website. They have been able to create custom modules and configurations to support any and all publishing needs as well as re-prioritize offerings within their business units. The established architecture, visual design, and technical solution has proven a suitable and resilient enough to satisfy changes in the market, communications and marketing objectives, as well as technology landscape for nearly a decade.
